Upcoming Orientation for Corrections

District 2 (our district) sponsors a meeting of the Broken Chain Gang Group at the Penitentiary of New Mexico (PNM). Currently, we have a weekly meeting at PNM on Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM. The meeting is staffed by three AA volunteers and attracts between 9-10 people.

Meetings at PNM follow a more traditional format with a big book study and focus on the 12 steps. They are beginning the step process now and plan on spending the next 14 weeks in a step study.

If you are interested in Corrections Service, the next orientation for PNM is scheduled for September 14th from 5:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at:

Area 46 NM 2010 Convention

The Area 46 NM 2010 Convention will be on June 5th & 6th. It will be held at Ghost Ranch

Annual retreat, sponsored by “An AA Group”

The annual retreat, sponsored by “An AA Group” will be held on October 15 & 16. The venue will be announced later.

PI & CPC are planning regional meetings

Area 46 Assembly

Our district will be hosting the next Area Assembly on March 6 – 7 at the Scottish Rite Temple.

This is an event that will be attended by AAs from across the state. There are plenty of service opportunities for this event, and periodic organizational meetings will be held at the Friendship Club. Please listen for announcements at meetings and check the Area Assembly Bulletin Board at the entrance to the big meeting room at the Friendship Club for updates.

New Years Eve Dance, January GSR workshop

There will be a New Year’s Eve dance at the Friendship Club, starting at 9:30 There will be soup.

There will be a workshop about being a GSR Jan 23. More info coming soon.

Winter Wonderland Gratitude Gala

The Winter Wonderland Gratitude Gala is schedule for December 12th. Central Office has tickets at $25 apiece. There is a catered dinner, a great speaker (Otto from Texas) and DJ dancing. Scholarships are available, and entry will be much less after the dinner. All are welcome; we want to be inclusive
